院校概况
谈到赫尔大学(University of Hull)，很多人可能会想到美国电影《毕业生》里面的那首插曲《斯卡布罗集市》，胡尔大学两个校区中的其中一个就位于这个英国中北部著名的旅游城市斯卡补罗SCARBOROUGH。该校与电影界还是比较有缘分的，1996年奥斯卡最佳影片《英国病人ENGLISH PATIENT》的导演Anthony Minghella就是该校的毕业生。
赫尔大学诞生于1928年，于1959年成为英格兰第14所大学。目前赫尔大学约为学生13000名（约2600位研究生，8800位本科生，其中10%的海外学生来自102个不同的国家）。该校的教学、研究在国际上很有影响，例如赫尔大学开发的液体显示目前在全世界广泛用于显示系统。大学也以其环境管理、商务技能专业知识而引以自豪，赫尔的学者在癌症和骨科方面做出许多开拓性研究，该校也在其他科目也不乏领先地位，包括采煤技术工程方面的进展，对于英国制造业十分重要。

城市介绍
赫尔位于英格兰东北部，有许久娱乐之处，如酒吧、俱乐部、剧院和商场。市中心距大学乘公共汽车只需十分钟，赫尔与欧洲其它地区之间有方便的航运、航空联系，去英国其它地方也很方便，历史名城约克和林肯市均相距不远。赫尔城十分安全，小城既有都市的热闹，也有平和的学习环境。大学保证单身海外学院学业期间的住宿，大学拥有并管理许多公寓，近三分之二的学生入住大学的套间、公寓或学生之家，其中大多距校区很近。学生公寓的房间与学校计算机网络和网际网路连通，学生会拥有120多个社团，包括许多体育活动社团，还有一个装备完善的体育和健美中心。学校的国际办公室是一支敬业的队伍，职员来自五个不同的国家，加在一起可以讲七门以上的外语。大学也设有海外学生咨询员、宗教教学、就业咨询员和辅导员。
