After 14 months and a half, my green card application finally came to fruition. To thank the help I got from this board, I'd like to share some experience with potential EB-1B and other EB applicants.
Here are some basic info about my case:
I-140; RD 5/15/2007, premium processing, approved 5/22/2007
I-485: RD 5/15/2007, FP 6/8/2008, RFE for medical received 10/13/2007, approved 7/31/2008.
My lawyer wrote everything (including recommendation letters) for me. I wrote a 3-page summary of my past research and provided a list of references.
I-140, EAD, AP, and FP went very smoothly. I-485 took a little longer, outside processing time by 60 days. In June, my lawyer made an inquiry with USCIS about my 485, which didn't seem to help. I received a letter from TSC last week replying to the inquiry, which says my case is under review.
Last week, I wrote a letter to our Congressman and explained my situation and asked them to make an inquiry. After I received I-485 approval e-mail from CRIS today, I called the Congressman's local office to cancel the request. But it turned out that they already acted on my request; they sent an e-mail to USCIS yesterday and got a response that my case is in transition (I don't know what it meant). Somehow, I think that the Congressman's office indeed helped.
best wishes for those still having pending 485.
